Senior Python Developer

Position: Senior Part-Time Python Developer Employment Type: Part-Time Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in Python development Job Overview We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Part-Time Python Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Python-based application development, backend architecture, API development, database management, and debugging. The candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting software applications while ensuring code quality, security, scalability, and performance. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable applications using Python.Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations.Work with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.Design and optimize database models, queries, and data-processing workflows.Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application bugs and performance issues.Develop secure and efficient RESTful APIs.Integrate third-party services and APIs when required.Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.Perform code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards and development practices.Write and maintain unit, integration, and API tests.Work with Git and follow proper version-control practices.Investigate technical issues and identify root causes rather than implementing temporary fixes.Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.Follow software development best practices, security standards, and coding conventions.Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, project managers, and other team members.Participate in technical discussions and provide appropriate solutions to development challenges.Maintain technical documentation related to developed features and APIs.Provide technical support and maintenance when required.Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.4+ years of professional experience in Python development.Strong knowledge of Python programming and object-oriented programming.Strong hands-on experience with at least one Python web framework, preferably Django.Experience with Django REST Framework / REST API development.Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL.Good understanding of database design, ORM, SQL, and query optimization.Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns.Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab.Good understanding of authentication, authorization, and application security.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.Ability to understand and work with an existing codebase.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Preferred Skills Experience with Django REST Framework, FastAPI, or Flask.Knowledge of Docker and containerization.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.Experience with Redis, Celery, or background job processing.Knowledge of automated testing and test-driven development.Understanding of OWASP and common web application security vulnerabilities.Experience working with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.Ability to independently analyze requirements and propose technical solutions.Good communication and collaboration skills.Strong attention to detail.Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.Willingness to work collaboratively with a distributed development team.Ability to quickly understand and work with existing systems.Working Arrangement Employment Type: Part-TimeWorking Hours: Flexible / To be mutually agreedWork Mode: Remote / Hybrid / On-siteAvailability: The candidate should be available for regular coordination with the development team and for critical issues when required.
