Position Summary
CVS Health is hiring for a Staff Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and implement platform solutions and systems by applying advanced technical expertise to architect and code software applications, conduct system testing and debugging, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall technical direction and innovation of digital engineering projects.
Duties Include But Not Limited To
Leverage expertise to design and implement efficient and scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standardsProvide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability considerations to ensure that the overall solution meets the desired objectivesCommunicate and coordinate with team members to ensure alignment, provide technical insights, and contribute to decision-making processesContribute to the adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and code quality
Required Qualifications
8+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering within enterprise-scale environmentsStrong hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, including architecture, capacity planning, upgrades, networking, security, and advanced troubleshootingProven ability to design, deploy, and support large-scale Kubernetes environments spanning multiple clusters, regions, or business units.
Deep understanding of GitOps methodologies, applying Git as the single source of truth for both application and infrastructure lifecycle managementExtensive experience with Argo CD for enterprise-grade continuous deployment, release automation, and governance in Kubernetes environmentsHands-on experience with Fleet for managing and orchestrating multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments at enterprise scaleStrong experience working with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including enterprise networking, IAM, security controls, and cost optimizationStrong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, OCI standards) and enterprise container registries
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to AI and automation initiatives in enterprise environmentsFamiliarity with security best practices, including secrets management, RBAC, network policies, and identity integrationExperience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
Pay Range
The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is
$106,605.00 - $213,210.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
