Summary:
The Application & AI Integration Engineer will be responsible for building full-stack web applications, backend infrastructure and best-in-class, custom AI services for use within the organization.
This role will be focused on building user-facing systems that include custom, tailor-built AI tools, skills, MCP servers and seamless integrations between our internal backend systems and third-party enterprise tools.
The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking engineer with a strong, foundational understanding of modern web application concepts and a deep understanding of large language models.
This person will be responsible for connecting with other departments within the company to understand the various needs and areas of opportunity across the organization.
This candidate should understand the unique security requirements of the tools they are building, as they will play a pivotal role in connecting our users with the right data at the right time while ensuring that our ecosystem and first-party data is handled responsibly.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain robust web applications from the ground up to support internal business data needs and external, fan-facing engagement platforms.
Build and deploy AI-powered tools and services, including access-scoped knowledge bases and MCP servers to facilitate communication between AI models and our backend architecture
Architect, optimize and audit secure cloud-based relational databases to effectively store and manage data
Work closely with departments across the organization to turn complex business needs into intelligent and functional AI-augmented applications that meet the various needs of disparate groups
Implement industry-standard security best practices at every layer of the development stack to ensure sensitive data is always protected while remaining accessible for use
Comfortably navigate command line interfaces to help manage various operating system environments to support continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or similar field
Proven experience building enterprise-grade web applications, AI tools and skills, and MCP servers
Experience with cloud-based platforms such as Amazon Web Services
Strong, production-level proficiency in Laravel/PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and Node
Familiarity with APIs, data ingestion patterns, and data integration techniques
Experience balancing large language model efficiency with token usage restrictions
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex problems
Deep understanding of relational databases and ORM schemas (Eloquent and PostgreSQL experience is a plus)
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
High comfort level working in the command line and administering Linux-based systems
Demonstrated experience building web applications with strict security and data privacy practices in mind
Ability to work flexible hours, including evening, weekends, and holidays, as needed

Annual Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00
