About the Team
The Information Technology team at Sigma Healthcare is responsible for the design, implementation and support of all of Sigma’s technology stack, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP S/4 HANA, decentralised EWM, SAP SaaS products (including Concur, Ariba, SuccessFactors and IBP), Salesforce, Retail POS within Chemist Warehouse and a multitude of supporting applications.
We are a team of approximately 250 dedicated staff, supplemented by external IT organisations to provide a cohesive ecosystem of solutions to our business
About the Role
Reporting to the Technical Lead – MPS Applications, you will work across MPS applications and integration components to support production stability, feature enhancements, technical remediation and modernisation.
MPS is building an in-house Software Engineering capability to develop and operate its digital platforms.
We are seeking two Full Stack Engineer's with experience developing user interfaces for Windows and web platforms, APIs and services, supported by strong SQL Server expertise.
You will build new features, modernise existing systems, contribute to architecture and technical direction, and maintain production applications.
You will also mentor junior engineers and help drive continuous improvement across Engineering practices.
Role Responsibilities
Working across Windows and web platforms, APIs, services and SQL Server, you will contribute to scalable, secure and maintainable software solutions.
You will also help shape technical direction, mentor engineers, contribute to design and architecture decisions, and support continuous improvement across Engineering practices.
The role requires someone who can quickly understand complex systems and business processes, work collaboratively in a changing environment, and engage directly with users and stakeholders to deliver practical, value-driven outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Contributing to Software Engineering strategy and agile ways of working.Influencing architecture, technical standards and design decisions.Designing and delivering new features and system enhancements.Maintaining code quality, security and performance through reviews and best practice.Supporting production systems through triage, defect resolution, root-cause analysis and release validation.Communicating technical solutions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Mentoring and supporting the development of other engineers.
Who are we looking for?
Professional software development experience with demonstrated expertise in full stack engineeringStrong proficiency in modern backend technologies and frameworks, with the ability to build scalable, maintainable systemDeep understanding of security best practices, including encryption, authentication, compliance frameworks and secure API designExperience developing and maintaining complex enterprise-grade systems.Strong knowledge of web APIs and system integration patterns.Strong database design knowledge, including both relational and NoSQL databases, with understanding of performance optimisationExperience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and DevOps practices
