Description

Qualifications 4+ years of professional software engineering experience (US Only) 4+ years of hands-on Java development experience building enterprise applications. Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices. Experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications in Azure or similar cloud environments. Experience supporting highly available enterprise platforms and participating in production support, incident investigation, root cause analysis, and operational improvement efforts. Experience maintaining and enhancing existing enterprise applications while contributing to modernization initiatives. Demonstrated ability to independently deliver complex technical solutions from design through implementation, deployment, and production support. Experience working within Agile software development methodologies. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior and mid-level engineers and share technical knowledge across teams. Strong understanding of software design principles, application architecture, and development best practices. Experience working with complex data models and enterprise-scale applications. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. BS Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred. Technical Skills Core Development Technologies Java development experience, preferably with Java 17 and/or Java 21. Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting RESTful APIs and microservices architectures. Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures. Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, or similar technologies. Cloud and Platform Technologies Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications in Microsoft Azure. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Experience with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Maven, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience supporting modern DevOps practices and automated deployment processes. Data and Persistence Experience with relational and NoSQL databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, or comparable technologies. Strong understanding of data modeling, data design, optimization, and performance tuning. Knowledge of database design best practices and enterprise data management principles. Experience working with multiple data storage technologies and architectures. Quality, Reliability, and Operations Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito. Strong understanding of application monitoring, observability, logging, distributed tracing, and performance optimization. Knowledge of secure coding practices and application resiliency patterns. Accountabilities Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise software solutions using Java and related technologies. Develop and support cloud-native microservices and APIs running in Azure environments. Participate in architecture and design discussions, providing recommendations that align with engineering best practices, operational requirements, and long-term maintainability. Write, review, and maintain high-quality, testable, and maintainable code. Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, performance, and production support issues. Design and work with complex data models and database structures. Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, SRE, QA, and peer engineering teams to deliver business solutions. Leverage AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve software quality, developer productivity, and delivery efficiency. Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices across the team. Mentor junior engineers as needed. Contribute to system reliability, observability, performance tuning, production support, and operational excellence initiatives. Assist with modernization initiatives involving migration of legacy applications to modern cloud-native platforms. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and engineering best practices to support continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned. U.S. National Base Pay Range: $86,600 - $144,400. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
