AWS DevOps Engineer

AWS DevOps Engineer London (Hybrid – typically 1 day per week in the office) Salary: Up to £90,000 We're partnering with a growing technology-led business operating a large-scale cloud platform and looking to add a hands-on DevOps Engineer to their engineering team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, building solutions from scratch, and taking ownership of cloud infrastructure rather than simply maintaining existing environments. You'll work as part of cross-functional product teams, helping to improve platform reliability, scalability, security and developer efficiency across a predominantly AWS estate. The team values curiosity, initiative and continuous improvement. They're looking for someone who enjoys learning, challenges the status quo and takes pride in delivering meaningful engineering outcomes. The Role You'll work closely with software engineers, QA engineers and data teams to design, build and optimise infrastructure that supports business-critical applications and data platforms. Responsibilities include: Building and improving AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as CodeCreating and enhancing CI/CD pipelines and deployment processesSupporting the infrastructure behind data and ETL platformsImproving platform reliability, observability and performanceIdentifying opportunities for automation and cost optimisationContributing to cloud security best practices and infrastructure governanceTroubleshooting complex production issues and acting as a technical problem solverSupporting SRE initiatives across the platformCollaborating with globally distributed engineering teams across Europe and India What They're Looking For Strong hands-on AWS experienceExperience with Terraform for Infrastructure as CodeGood understanding of networking concepts including VPCs, routing and autoscalingExperience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog or similarKnowledge of cloud security principles and AWS best practicesExperience building, improving and automating infrastructure rather than purely supporting itStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsComfortable working across a broad range of DevOps, platform and SRE responsibilitiesNice to Have OpenSearch experienceRedshift experienceKinesis experienceExposure to Azure environmentsScripting and automation experience The Team You'll join a close-knit engineering function where DevOps plays a central role in product delivery.
