Software Engineer — Backend / Full Stack Location: New York, NY Work Model: Hybrid — 4 days in office (Monday–Thursday), WFH Friday Employment: Full-time Salary: $180,000–$230,000 + Competitive Equity Visa: Open to OPT and H-1B transfers
About the Role We’re looking for Software Engineers with 2+ years of backend engineering experience to help build financial infrastructure powering billions of dollars in nonprofit payments.
You’ll own systems end-to-end—from architecture and implementation to production—while working closely with founders, product, and engineering leadership.
This is a high-autonomy environment where strong technical judgment, clear communication, and a bias toward shipping are highly valued.
What You’ll Do
Design, build, and own scalable backend services and APIs.Contribute to architecture, engineering standards, and infrastructure decisions.Build reliable systems using Go, Node.js, PostgreSQL, REST, and gRPC.Develop and operate containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes.Improve monitoring, observability, and real-time alerting.Work across the platform rather than within a narrowly defined product silo.Collaborate directly with founders and leadership to solve complex technical problems.
What We’re Looking For Required:
2–10 years of professional backend/software engineering experience.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical field.Proven experience building and owning scalable backend systems end-to-end.Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Experience working in a high-growth technology environment.Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.Ability to work onsite in NYC Monday–Thursday.
Nice to Have:
