About MobiLoud MobiLoud helps established ecommerce brands turn their existing websites into iOS and Android apps, without rebuilding their product or maintaining a second system. Our customers use MobiLoud to drive repeat purchases, recover abandoned carts through push notifications, and reduce their dependence on paid acquisition. We’re a bootstrapped, profitable, remote-first SaaS company founded in 2013. We’ve published 2,000+ apps and have hundreds of active customers today, including Estée Lauder, John Varvatos, Jack & Jones, and Tadashi Shoji. Our team is 13 people, all remote and hands-on. The role Every app we build loads a merchant’s live website. We build and maintain the web applications that connect the two. These are our Shopify app, BigCommerce app, WordPress plugin and the configuration tool our team uses to build and manage every customer app. You’ll be responsible for all our web development. Our mobile developer handles iOS and Android, and a part-time frontend developer handles per-customer UI work. You’ll build features and keep live systems healthy. The work includes turning mockups into features in the configuration tool and upgrading the Shopify app to new API versions without downtime. You’ll also build OAuth integrations with push platforms and fix production problems, including queue workers dropping jobs and integration bugs in a merchant’s live store. Features can wait weeks for a release today because we’re wary of breaking merchant sites. You’ll rebuild the release process so we can release more often. Improving how we release is as much a part of the job as building features. You need to use AI coding tools in your daily work. We use Claude Code every day and want you to help us do more with it. You report to the Head of Product and Operations. What you’ll do • Maintain our Shopify app, including API version upgrades, webhooks, order tagging, code injection, queue health and the merchant-facing admin. • Build and maintain the configuration tool, including its admin panel and merchant portal. • Build integrations with BigCommerce, WordPress and WooCommerce, and with push and analytics tools such as Klaviyo and OneSignal. • Take features from mockups to tested releases, including the interface. • Deploy your own work and maintain the servers, including queues, caching, background jobs, monitoring and alerts. • Release changes to a handful of stores before everyone gets them. Add working rollback paths and automated checks on pull requests. • Investigate integration bugs reported by individual merchants and fix their causes. • Support our SOC 2 work on your systems, covering access, logging and what data leaves our servers. Who you are • You have three to six years shipping production PHP and Laravel. You work quickly in both. • You’ve built or maintained a public app on an ecommerce platform, ideally Shopify. You understand OAuth install flows, webhooks, API version deprecations and platform reviews. • You handle whole features, including database design, backend, admin interface and deployment. You’ve worked with Filament or Livewire and know enough Vue or plain JavaScript to work on an existing frontend. • You test your own work before handing it over, including clicking through the interface. • You use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor daily. You can explain what you’ve built with them and where you’ve found their limits. • You’re comfortable on Linux servers, deploying code, managing queue workers, Redis and background jobs. You can read logs and diagnose production incidents yourself. • You raise problems the day you find them, including unclear requirements, blocked work and delays. • You have fluent written and spoken English and regular overlap with US Eastern business hours for the daily engineering meeting. What success looks like • Six months in, we’re releasing weekly instead of monthly. We can roll back a bad release in minutes. • Features are ready to test when you hand them over. Reviewers can focus on the design and implementation decisions. • The Shopify app stays healthy, with queues processing jobs and no recurring incidents or alerts. • You document your systems well enough that someone else can handle an urgent fix while you’re away. Why this role • You make the technical decisions across our web applications. • Brands like Jack & Jones, John Varvatos, Tadashi Shoji and GSF Car Parts use apps built on your code, across Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, WooCommerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud. • You have direct access to the founder and the Head of Product and Operations. Decisions get made the same week. • Work remotely. We have no office. • Set your own hours and take unlimited time off. Give notice when you’re out, that’s the only rule. You’ll work out the details and ask when something is unclear. • You want to work in a modern JavaScript framework all day. This is a PHP and Laravel role with an admin interface. • You want to avoid server work. You’ll handle deployment, queues and production debugging. • You go quiet for days at a time.
