Then join our Data Management team, which owns the technical core of the Adcubum Syrius insurance platform: the persistence, batch, caching, archiving and logging frameworks that every business module in Syrius is built on. Two things matter to us equally. The existing solution has to stay stable, fast and supportable for our customers. And it has to be modernised, step by step, away from legacy code and a heavyweight application server towards a lightweight, mainstream and cloud-native stack. Tasks Own and evolve the Syrius core frameworks that every business module builds on: persistence, batch, caching, archiving and logging.Drive the modernisation, replacing our in-house solutions with industry-standard ones.Analyse complex production problems in customer environments, from performance and caching to data consistency, and turn each finding into a lasting fix.Improve the throughput and scalability of persistence and batch processing: profiling, JMH benchmarks, query and index tuning, parallelisation.Write the solution designs for changes that carry hard constraints on data integrity and availability, and review the designs and test plans of others.Extend the automated tests and CI/CD pipelines so that a framework change can be released with confidence.Act as the technical contact for framework topics across the development teams, and help colleagues grow as the team does. Requirements Several years of backend engineering in Java, with the JVM skills to debug, profile, and analyze performance yourself.Confident SQL and hands-on experience with a relational database such as Oracle or PostgreSQL, for data access, tuning and troubleshooting.Experience maintaining and refactoring large, long-lived codebases: the ability to improve solutions you did not build.You reason your way through concurrency, transactions and distributed state.Fluent English is mandatory, fluent German is an advantage. Nice To Have Experience with automated testing and modern CI/CD pipelines for a codebase that many teams depend on.Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the surrounding ecosystem.Hands-on experience with event-driven or stream-processing architecture.Hands-on experience with distributed caching, for example Hazelcast, and with cache invalidation in a cluster.Experience with high-volume batch processing frameworks.Experience with data archiving, retention, and GDPR-driven deletion.Containerisation and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.Familiarity with observability tooling: logs, metrics, and tracing.
