Job Description:
Ensure the safety and security of our nation as a Systems Engineer (DevOps) at GDIT.
Our work depends on the Systems Engineer (DevOps) joining our team to support the deployment of systems and capabilities centered on our comprehensive motion imagery software suite.
The DevOps Engineer will support operations of a non-internet accessible on-prem hybrid environment built primarily on Kubernetes.
HOW A DEVOPS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The candidate will be expected to provide an array of skills within DevOps discipline.Development and/or scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Java, C#, etc)Linux OS experienceSystems engineering experienceSource code management tools (Git, etc) and artifact repositories (Nexus/Atifactory, container registries, etc)Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Rundeck, etcExperience with build/packaging tools such as Gradle, Maven Poetry, etc
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
The position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearanceBachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, OR equivalent four (4) years job-related experience OR Master's degree with three (3+) years of job-related experience.The position requires five (5+) years of related DevOps engineering experienceDemonstrated experience employing DevSecOps principles, including strict configuration management, configuration-as-code, and continuous deliveryDemonstrated experience in building, securing, and operating containers in a dynamic environmentExperience working in a Kubernetes-based environment, including: 1) A basic understanding of how Kubernetes works 2) Experience using and/or administering Kubernetes clusters 3) Experience building and deploying workloads using HelmKnowledge of container and Linux host networkingExperience with Apache KafkaExperience with Elastic stackExcellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal and team building skillsProven problem-solving skills in complex environmentsThe position is on customer site

The likely salary range for this position is $153,000 - $207,000.
This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
