Take technical ownership in a small, fast-moving team and work directly with senior business leadership. The role provides broad exposure to marketplace operations, booking workflows, payments, invoicing, and systems integration.
Description
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a New York City marketplace for flexible space.
Founded in 2016 and independently funded, they let creatives and companies book spaces by the hour for productions, offsite meetings, private and corporate events, and fashion showrooms, with concierge service handling the details.
On the other side of the marketplace, they let private homeowners and corporate landlords monetize their spaces without touching the reservation process themselves.
That means they run a two-sided operation.
Bookings, venue availability and operational requirements on one side.
Space owners, Casa Managers, vendors and contractors on the other.
Between them sits a sales pipeline, invoicing and payments, and a lot of coordination.
They are a small team of designers, producers and industry experts.
Decisions are made quickly, and the person in this role will work directly with the CEO and the operations team.
THE ROLE
You will be the technical owner of how the company's systems fit together: the database that becomes the source of truth, the integrations that keep the platforms in sync, the web applications and dashboards the business runs on, and the infrastructure underneath them.
You will also decide, with them, where AI genuinely helps and where it does not.
This is a hands-on role with a wide surface.
You will not be handed a backlog.
You will interview the people doing the work, find out what is actually happening, and propose what to fix first.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Integrations and data sync.
Keep Zendesk, ClickUp and our internal systems in sync, and replace manual and scattered automations with reliable, maintainable code.
• Database and data integrity.
Rebuild our database as the operational source of truth, audit the data and the processes feeding it, and keep it accurate, consistent and monitored.
• Web applications and dashboards.
Build the applications and dashboards the business runs on, from the ground up.
• Infrastructure and security.
Deploy, secure, back up and operate everything you build.
• AI integration.
Put AI models into real operational workflows where they add measurable value, and improve our internal AI agent.
• Process and documentation.
Map how the business actually works, propose what to automate next, and document it in English.
EXPERIENCE & WORKING STYLE
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience building and operating web applications in production, with demonstrated ownership of what you shipped.
• Advanced English, spoken and written, at a level that supports stakeholder interviews, technical explanations to non-technical people, and written documentation.
• A track record of working independently on systems with limited supervision, and of prioritizing work by business impact.
