Your mission You are a dynamic and results-driven 4G/5G NTN-TN RF Engineering Architect reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, bridging the technical and commercial teams, leading the development and lifecycle of OIQ’s NTN-TN handheld and land mobility MOVE product and embedded software intelligence. You will work cross-functionally across technical, commercial and marketing teams defining product requirements, prioritizing features, and delivering exceptional customer experiences aligned to the company’s strategic and innovative direction. The 4G/5G NTN-TN RF Engineering Architect (m/f/d) is responsible for embedded handheld and mobility product development leadership, planning, execution, test support and accompanying the commercial market rollout of our land mobility and handheld device software product deployment throughout their product lifecycle. You are and will be: Proficient in network planning and simulationLeading OIQ’s digital hardware architecture engineering (particularly for modems and modem accelerators, including application processors, etc.) including communications systems software stacksSupporting the evaluation of component and subsystem-level partners for unique componentsLeading the physical layer and protocol stack software architecture developmentReviewing and evaluating all mission end-to-end logical interfaces including software interfaces and applications related to spaceborne platforms, subsystem and terrestrial handheld user terminal RF control, protocol stacks, battery management, etc.Architecting and developing a hybrid satellite-terrestrial (i.e., NTN-TN) communication solution ensuring seamless interoperability for mobility and handheld device use casesPlanning and executing integration and system test specificationsDefining, managing, translating and integrating user terminal (edge and handheld device) and gateway requirements specifications into wireless system architectures aligned with:3GPP Releases 15 and later, ETSI, ITU, FCC and other respective international standards bodiesDesigning and optimizing radio access (RAN), core and transport network components supporting adaptive, low-latency and high throughput ubiquitous connectivityImplementing network strategies for LEO/MEO/GEO satellite constellations with 5G/LTE/RedCap cellular networksDeveloping and optimizing NTN-TN spectrum sharing, interference mitigation and beamforming strategiesDefining and managing feeder link requirements specifications, includingInterfacing from currently existing terrestrial networks (TN) into the non-terrestrial network (NTN) whereby feeder links exchange both data and controlProviding integrated support to end-to-end mission service provisioning architecture and data path integrity (end-to-end RF communications chain; platform and onboard payload; edge and handheld device user terminals and integrated modems; etc.)Driving board and subsystem-level breadboard development, testing and validation of critical architecture building blocksConducting laboratory and field testing including Over-The-Air (OTA) and real-world drive testing for NTN-TN interoperability across both mobile edge and handheld devicesWorking together with the network design and development team focusing upon:Network simulation;Subsystem integration; andProof-of-Concept deployments and demonstrationsCoordinating external partnerships, as requiredManaging and planning respective deliveries from contract suppliers, including:Milestone definition and execution to plan;Project plan signoffs;
