Description

Job Description At Sage, we're investing heavily in the future of cloud operations, platform engineering and AI-enabled services. We're looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer to join a growing team responsible for the reliability, scalability and operational excellence of several cloud-hosted SaaS products, including innovative technologies supporting AI-powered onboarding, automation and data migration capabilities. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of cloud operations, supporting modern AWS-based platforms, containerised workloads and infrastructure-as-code practices that help thousands of customers rely on Sage solutions every day. You'll be part of a collaborative global team that works across multiple products and technologies rather than being confined to a single platform. If you're passionate about cloud engineering, automation and building resilient systems at scale, we'd love to hear from you. *** Please note: This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in our Atlanta office *** Key Responsibilities What you'll be doing  Supporting and operating mission-critical SaaS platforms hosted primarily in AWS Maintaining highly available, secure and scalable cloud environments Managing and improving Kubernetes-based infrastructure and containerised workloads Building, enhancing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt Improving observability, monitoring and alerting across cloud services Supporting incident management, troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation through GitOps practices Collaborating with engineering teams to improve platform resilience, performance and operational efficiency Creating automation, tooling and runbooks that enable faster issue resolution and reduce operational overhead Helping operationalise new products and services introduced through recent innovation and acquisition activity What we're looking for Essential  Hands-on experience supporting production cloud environments in AWS Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerised infrastructure Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows and deployment automation Scripting experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar technologies Strong understanding of cloud networking, systems administration and production operations Experience responding to incidents and performing root cause analysis within distributed systems Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Nice to have  Experience with Microsoft Azure Experience using Terragrunt Knowledge of GitOps methodologies Experience with ArgoCD Experience working within SaaS or software product organisations Familiarity with Jira and Agile delivery environments Why join this team? This team supports a portfolio of cloud-hosted products that play an important role in Sage's growing cloud ecosystem. Rather than focusing on a single application, you'll collaborate across multiple products, teams and technologies, giving you broad exposure to modern cloud engineering challenges and opportunities. You'll join a supportive global team of experienced cloud engineers who collaborate closely across multiple regions. The team places a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing, automation and sustainable operational practices, allowing engineers to focus on solving meaningful technical challenges rather than constant firefighting. As Sage continues to invest in AI-powered experiences, platform modernisation and cloud innovation, you'll have the opportunity to help shape how new products and services are operated at scale. Benefits? We have plenty.  Competitive annual bonuses Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) retirement match (100% matching up to 4%) 32 days paid time off (22 personal days & 10 national holidays) 18 weeks of paid parental leave (offered 1 year after the start date) Work Away Program: Opportunity to work & play for 10 weeks from another country (Sage-approved list) Sage Foundation: 5 days paid yearly to volunteer $5,250 tuition reimbursement per calendar year starting 6 months after the hire date Sage Wellness Rewards Program ($600 wellness credit and $360 fitness reimbursement annually)
