As the Head of Content Development (Livestream and Video), you will be the primary architect of our Live Commerce and Live Entertainment ecosystem. You will be responsible for creating a strong conversion engine that drives both brand equity and significant GMV.You will oversee a multi-disciplinary team encompassing format development, brand partner collaboration, creator management, and technical operations to deliver a world-class live annual programming calendar aligned with Marketing, cultural and retail moments. This role will predominantly focus on expanding our Live ecosystem alongside ensuring viable content funnels for new and emerging content formats. WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING) 1. Strategic Programming & Format DevelopmentDefine and execute the 2026 Live Commerce Strategy, structuring programming across three tiers: high-production 'Tentpoles', 'Expert/KOL in Studio' formats, and 'Creator Organic' high-frequency market specific streams.Scale the local ecommerce programming to capacity, optimizing costs and creator efficiencies.Assessing new content formats commercial viability in relation to the product and creator strategy and building Business cases for implementation and scale. 2. Brand Partner Development & MonetizationCollaborate with Zalando Marketing Services (ZMS) to grow the brand-funded content programming. Develop and pitch innovative monetization formats, including mono-brand takeovers, multi-brand co-funded shows with top creators (KOL) creating repeatable storytelling and cadence throughout the year aligned to major retail moments. 3. Creator Management & EnablementOversee the casting and scaling of diverse host profiles with category authority and recognised conversion. Scale creator campaigns, transitioning from flat fees to performance-based compensation models and tiered bonuses tied to sales volume.Institute mandatory "Training Academies" covering camera presence, audience interaction, pacing, and advanced objection handling. 4. Operations & Product InnovationWork alongside Product, Engineering and Design to steer the Live platform roadmap and optimize functionality for conversion. Partner with Product Management to implement critical UX features, including low-latency product pinning, interactive giveaway engines, and automated shoppable VOD snippets.Manage the end-to-end production operations, ensuring technical stability and high-quality video feeds across all platforms.Optimize post-stream content monetization by repurposing live broadcasts into high-performing short-form assets for PDPs and home feeds.Product Marketing leadership: Ensuring we match the right audiences to our live streams across channels and to develop new tactics driving users to watch and consume our content (CRM, Paid, Simulcasting)WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IFLeadership Experience: Proven track record of managing high-performing, cross-functional teams in digital media, e-commerce, or live broadcasting.Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of retail economics, GMV drivers, and the ability to link creative content to conversion metrics.Market Knowledge: Deep familiarity with global live commerce trends (e.g., China/Xiaohongshu benchmarks) and the European digital landscape.Stakeholder Management: Exceptional ability to navigate complex organizational structures, aligning with Marketing, ZMS, and Product teams.Innovation Mindset: Passion for AI integration and emerging technologies that enhance the shopping experience.OUR OFFER Zalando provides a range of benefits, here’s an overview of what you can expect.
