We're looking for a Scala Engineer to join a long-term project for a Fortune 100 industrial manufacturer, helping modernize cloud-based services and data products used by dealers, enterprise customers, and internal business units globally. Your Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using ScalaBuild event-driven services, integrations, and distributed system componentsDevelop highly available APIs and cloud-native backend solutionsContribute to architecture and technical design decisionsTroubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysisEnsure software quality through testing, code reviews, and best practicesMentor team members and contribute to technical excellenceOwn services throughout their entire lifecycle Requirements: 3+ years of commercial Scala experience 8+ years of software engineering experience Experience with Akka or Apache Pekko AWS experience Kafka, Kinesis or other messaging platforms Functional programming (Cats, Cats Effect, ZIO) PostgreSQL and SQL Docker and CI/CD Microservices and distributed systems Strong architecture and problem-solving skills Nice to Have: Java 17+/21Spring BootHibernate/JPADynamoDBCloudFormationFlywaySnowflake, BigQuery, DatabricksTelemetry or large-scale event processing Why Join?
