Full Stack Software Engineer - React, Next.js & Node.js Industry: Asset Management Location: London Work Setup: Hybrid - 3 days office based / 2 days WFH We have an exciting new opportunity for a Full Stack Software Engineer ideally with React, Next.js and Node.js to join Robert Walters as a Consultant. As a Consultant, you will benefit from permanent employment with Robert Walters and will be deployed on an assignment with one of our clients, a British multinational asset management company. The Role: Are you a pragmatic, hands-on Full Stack Software Engineer who enjoys building modern digital products and solving complex business problems? We're looking for a versatile engineer to join our client's Client Engagement & Digital Content Platforms team, working on modern digital platforms that support content management, distribution, search, analytics and client engagement across a global organisation. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across the full technology stack - from React and Next.js on the frontend through to Node.js, APIs and cloud-native services on the backend. You'll have genuine ownership across the software development lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, deployment, monitoring and production support. What you'll be doing: Build and maintain modern full stack applications using React.js, Next.js and Node.jsDevelop responsive, accessible and high-performing digital experiencesDesign and build backend services, APIs and integrationsWork across the full SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment and production supportBuild and maintain automated tests and contribute to strong engineering standardsSupport CI/CD pipelines, DevOps and Infrastructure as CodeWork with cloud technologies and cloud-native architecturesUse AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, software quality and deliveryMonitor and support production applications, improving performance, reliability and maintainabilityIntegrate with Headless CMS platforms and SaaS servicesWork closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, UX, Marketing, Sales and Digital stakeholdersParticipate in Agile ceremonies including planning, refinement, showcases and retrospectivesEvaluate emerging technologies and identify practical opportunities to improve products and engineering processesTake ownership of technical solutions from initial idea through to delivery You'll ideally bring: Proven experience developing and supporting modern full stack applicationsStrong commercial experience with React.jsExperience with Next.js or a similar modern web frameworkStrong Node.js backend development experienceExperience building and consuming APIs and integrationsStrong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns and maintainable architectureExperience with cloud technologies - Azure would be advantageousExperience with CI/CD, DevOps and Infrastructure as CodeUnderstanding of automated testing and modern quality engineering practicesExperience integrating with Headless CMS platformsFamiliarity with application monitoring, observability and production supportStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience working within Agile development teamsStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience that would set you apart: Financial services or other regulated environmentsHigh-traffic digital platforms and websitesSaaS-based search providersPythonServerless and cloud-native architecturesAI technologies and modern AI engineering practicesMarketing, Sales or Digital technology environmentsWorking with globally distributed engineering teamsAI & modern engineering AI is becoming an increasingly important part of modern software engineering, so we're particularly interested in engineers who are comfortable using AI-assisted development tools and understand how AI can support the development lifecycle - from requirements analysis and coding through to testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
