Software Engineer

If it doesn't, this isn't the right role for you, and that's okay. We're looking for a software engineer to join the founding team full time. You'll work directly with the founders on product and architecture decisions. About Verea We're building the invisible field sales OS. A system that lives in a chat, captures everything a salesperson already does (voice notes, photos, chat messages, quick updates) and structures it automatically into their enterprise systems. No new platform to learn or to log into. Just WhatsApp, the way they already use it. We're past the idea stage: paying clients in active pilots, and a fundraising round in progress. The vision is larger than field sales, but we're starting where the problem is most acute. The work you do this week reaches clients next week. What You'll Own - **Product engineering.** Build and evolve Verea's core product: backend services, user-facing applications, and AI-powered workflows. Take features from product discussions through implementation, release, and iteration. - **Tools and connectors.** Connect Verea to the systems our customers run: CRMs and ERPs such as HubSpot, Odoo, and Salesforce, plus Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Expose their capabilities as tools and features that users and AI workflows can use, with the safeguards around them: read-only first, then drafts, then confirmed writes. - **End-to-end workflows.** Bring together interfaces, APIs, data models, and background processing so that customer workflows work reliably across Verea and external systems. - **Production quality.** Build in tenant isolation, access controls, automated tests, and observability. Diagnose failures in production and improve the systems you ship. - **Technical decisions.** Work directly with the CTO and the team on architecture and implementation, choosing solutions that fit the stage of the product and stay practical to maintain. What We're Looking For Strong software engineering foundations: You can reason about APIs, data models, application behavior, and maintainable code. Strong TypeScript skills. Python experience is a plus.Experience shipping products: You have delivered features used by real customers and worked through the bugs, feedback, and trade-offs that follow a release.Ability to work across the stack: You have depth in at least one area and are comfortable contributing across backend, frontend, and integrations.Integration fundamentals: You understand OAuth, webhooks, and third-party APIs, including how to handle failures and protect customer data.Product judgment: You can clarify an ambiguous requirement, break it into useful increments, and make sensible trade-offs with the team. We're building a team with complementary strengths. You don't need equal depth in frontend, backend, AI workflows, and integrations. You do need to be willing to work across those boundaries.
