Web Developer – React / TypeScript Location: Canberra, ACT – Hybrid working arrangementsContract: 12 months + 2 x 12-month extension optionsSecurity Clearance: Current NV1 requiredLevel: APS6 equivalent Position Overview An opportunity is available for an experienced Web Developer to join an agile, multidisciplinary capability delivery team working on a significant public-facing web system. You will work alongside Business Analysts, Software Developers and Testers to design, build and enhance modern web components, APIs, data access and business logic. The role offers a strong mix of front-end development using React and TypeScript, API integration with Node.js and Express, automated testing and ongoing system improvement. Key Duties Design, build, integrate, deliver and document software solutions aligned with business requirements.Develop and enhance public-facing web components and supporting APIs.Work closely with business and product owners to clarify requirements using Agile delivery methods.Translate logical designs into physical solutions and integrate software using Agile development practices.Enhance automation capabilities across existing systems and recommend appropriate new tools and structures.Integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf and Government Off-The-Shelf software where required.Monitor systems and infrastructure and troubleshoot technical and support issues.Implement and maintain automated testing.Produce detailed technical and design documentation.Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the delivery team. Skills And Experience Required Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript and ES6.Experience with modern build tools and bundlers such as Webpack.Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jest.Demonstrated experience working within Agile, Kanban and Scrum environments.Experience implementing UX specifications for public-facing applications.Strong Single-Page Application (SPA) development experience.Experience with state management technologies such as Redux or MobX, routing and responsive design.Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.Understanding of secure authentication workflows and appropriate data handling.Ability to produce clear and detailed design and technical documentation.Current AGSVA NV1 security clearance is required.
