About The Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our Infrastructure Services team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and optimizing our Linux server environment, Kubernetes clusters, and automation processes. Your expertise will ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, supporting Metzler’s commitment to innovative banking solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, GitOps principles, and ITIL processes, to streamline operations and enhance system reliability. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a solid educational background in IT, such as an IT-related degree or equivalent professional experience. You should have several years of hands-on experience in managing Linux (RHEL) servers and Kubernetes environments, preferably within regulated or complex settings. Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible, along with experience in version control systems such as GitLab, is essential. Familiarity with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, as well as working with Helm, Kustomize, and ArgoCD, is required. Knowledge of ITIL processes and experience with hypervisors like VMware, Proxmox, or Suse Hypervisor will be advantageous. Strong analytical skills, structured working methods, and excellent communication skills in German are critical for success in this role. Responsibilities Operate and administer our Linux server infrastructure based on RHEL, ensuring high availability and security.Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters, guaranteeing reliable deployment and operation of applications and services.Automate routine tasks and operational processes to improve efficiency and standardization across the infrastructure.Support and develop CI/CD pipelines using modern tools and methodologies to facilitate controlled and secure deployments.Create, manage, and optimize deployments within Kubernetes, advancing our GitOps strategies.Implement and monitor security measures to protect the IT infrastructure against emerging threats.Apply ITIL best practices in daily operations, supporting incident, change, and problem management processes.Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize infrastructure, and implement new solutions.
