About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SFCC Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side systems that power our headless commerce storefronts. Your expertise will contribute to creating seamless, high-performance e-commerce experiences tailored for modern PWA frontends. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, system architects, and project managers, to ensure the delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure commerce solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the technical architecture of our commerce platform, optimize backend processes, and implement innovative features that enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in web development utilizing modern JavaScript (ES6+), with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming and modular design principles. A minimum of three years of Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) experience is essential, including hands-on involvement in building or migrating to headless architectures driven by OCAPI and SCAPI. Proven expertise in designing and implementing custom APIs, hooks, and integrations within SFCC is required. Candidates should demonstrate a deep understanding of payment, shipping, and external cartridge integrations, along with experience in optimizing site performance, security, and scalability. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, build tools like Webpack or Rollup, and deployment automation using Jenkins or similar platforms is also necessary. Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams, are vital for success in this role. Responsibilities The Senior SFCC Backend Developer will be responsible for designing, building, and extending SFCC backend endpoints (OCAPI, SCAPI) to expose product, catalog, cart, checkout, and customer data as RESTful services tailored for PWA frontends. You will participate in daily agile ceremonies, contributing to brainstorming sessions and collaborative problem-solving within a distributed team environment. Providing accurate effort estimates, conducting rigorous code reviews, and refactoring legacy cartridges into modular, maintainable services will be key aspects of your role. You will produce detailed API specifications, architecture diagrams, and system runbooks to ensure seamless frontend-backend integration. Additionally, you will facilitate and optimize SFCC Jobs to support high-scale, real-time commerce data processing. Your responsibilities include translating complex functional logic into clear technical documentation, recommending enhancements to development workflows, and automating deployment processes to accelerate delivery cycles. Collaborating with frontend developers on API caching strategies, CDN, Redis, and preload techniques will be essential to meet performance and offline requirements. You will also oversee the configuration and optimization of search indexes, sorting rules, and recommender systems, ensuring they are aligned with Einstein and SCAPI endpoints. Your expertise will help improve site performance, security, and scalability while maintaining high standards for code quality and system reliability.
