Special Considerations Start date: immediately Duration: 12 MTH initial contractLocation: hybrid, with onsite in KazakhstanLanguages: Fluent English and Kazakh/ Russian mandatory Responsibilities The Resident Engineer (RE) is a highly technical, customer-facing role responsible primarily for providing post-sales, on-site engineering support within the customer’s network environment. The RE will act as a trusted technical advisor and Juniper subject matter expert, supporting the design, implementation, operation, optimisation, troubleshooting, and ongoing evolution of the customer’s Service Provider network. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain deep expertise in the Juniper products and technologies deployed within the customer environment, with particular emphasis on Service Provider routing, MPLS, MPLS VPNs, L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS, BGP, IS-IS/OSPF, and related technologies. The objective of the service is to provide an exceptional customer experience and ensure that Juniper solutions operate reliably, efficiently, and in accordance with industry and Juniper best practices. Requirements The Resident Engineer will be responsible for activities including, but not limited to: Provide on-site technical support for Juniper Service Provider network environments.Support network design, implementation, migration, upgrades, and optimisation activities.Troubleshoot complex routing, MPLS, VPN, and platform-related issues through to resolution.Manage and track JTAC cases, Product Reports (PRs), software fixes, and RMAs.Test and validate new designs, software releases, patches, and features before production deployment.Develop implementation plans, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), rollback plans, and technical documentation.Support Juniper MX, PTX, and other relevant routing and switching platforms.Provide expertise across MPLS, L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, and related Service Provider technologies.Develop network automation scripts and operational tooling using Python, Ansible, or similar technologies.Conduct technical workshops, knowledge transfer, and training for customer engineering teams.Perform configuration reviews, network health checks, risk assessments, and best-practice recommendations.Produce regular technical reports, status updates, and documentation.
