THE ROLE This is a full-time Senior Backend Engineer role based in Helsinki, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. You will be a key engineer on the cloud platform behind Contour+ and Workspace+ — the services that move clinical imaging, run AI contouring workloads, and control who can access what. Customer demand is growing fast and this role exists to scale our platform to embrace the future. You will own backend services end to end, with identity management, multi-tenant data, and security at the centre of the work. The role sits within R&D and works closely with DevOps, Customer Success, and regulatory teams. Key Responsibilities Cloud Backend Development - Design, build and operate backend services in .NET and Python across cloud and on-premises deployments - Own services end to end — architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production behaviour - Improve performance, reliability and scalability as customer volume grows Identity & Access Management - Build federated SSO so hospitals can authenticate with their own identity providers (Azure AD, AD FS, SAML, OIDC) - Develop multi-tenant authorization and customer onboarding that scales without an engineer in the loop - Integrate and operate an OIDC identity broker across our applications Multi-Tenant Data - Design and evolve multi-tenant schemas with strict tenant isolation - Plan and execute migrations on live data that cannot be taken offline Security & Compliance - Treat authentication, secrets management, audit trails and least privilege as first-class design concerns - Uphold patient data protection across every service — no PHI in logs, anywhere - Contribute to MDR/ISO 13485 and security documentation alongside the code Internal Collaboration - Work with DevOps on deployment and observability, and with Customer Success on issues surfacing from hospital environments - Contribute to internal design documentation, architecture decisions and engineering standards Who We Are Looking For Required 5+ years in Back-End and Software Development, having built and operated production services Strong .NET and C# experienceHands-on OAuth 2.0 / OIDC experience as an implementer — token validation, claims, multi-issuer setups SQL and data modelling, including multi-tenant design and migrations on live dataExperience with cloud platforms, containerization, and orchestration (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes)Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control in a collaborative environmentA genuine security instinct — you notice the trust boundary in a design before someone asksComfortable testing things that are hard to test, and able to say why a test earns its placeFluent English, written and spokenBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; experience in healthcare, medical imaging, or AI-driven products is a plus Nice to Have DICOM and medical imaging formatsHIPAA, GDPR or other healthcare privacy and security frameworksImage processing or AI/ML systems in productionAzure (Blob, Cosmos, Entra), containers, OpenTelemetryExperience in a regulated environment — medical devices, avionics, financeExposure to ISO 27001 or ISO 13485 Why Join MVision AI Front-row seat to clinical AI deployed in radiotherapy departments worldwideTechnically demanding role with real ownership — architecture decisions, not ticketsClose collaboration across R&D, DevOps and Customer Success; clear path to senior/principal and architecture rolesFlexible hybrid working from Helsinki HQ; regular team offsitesDiverse, international team that moves fast and takes quality seriously
