Job Summary
The Tulip Application Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Tulip applications that support manufacturing operations and production processes.
This role works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Materials, and other cross-functional teams to understand operational requirements and translate them into effective digital solutions.
The position will develop and maintain applications used by production employees, including digital work instructions, production data collection, process workflows, quality checks, troubleshooting tools, production dashboards, and other applications that improve efficiency, accuracy, visibility, and standardization across the manufacturing environment.
The Tulip Application Developer will also support the integration of Tulip with other business systems and technologies, troubleshoot application issues, monitor system performance, and continuously improve applications based on user feedback and changing business requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities.
Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain Tulip applications that support production and manufacturing
operations.
Develop digital work instructions, standardized work applications, production workflows, checklists, data collection forms, and operator interfaces.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Materials, and other departments to identify opportunities to improve processes through digital applications.
Translate business and manufacturing requirements into application functionality, workflows, and technical solutions.
Configure and maintain Tulip Tables, Automations, Connectors, Machines, and other platform functionality.
Develop production dashboards and visualizations that provide real-time or near-real-time operational information.
Integrate Tulip applications with ERP, databases, APIs, and other manufacturing systems as needed.
Develop and maintain integrations using REST APIs, JSON, SQL, and other applicable technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Tulip applications, integrations, data, and user access.
Monitor Tulip applications and system performance and take corrective action when issues are identified.
Perform routine application maintenance, updates, testing, and version control.
Conduct user testing and validation prior to deploying new or modified applications.
Gather feedback from production users and incorporate appropriate improvements into existing applications.
Maintain documentation for applications, workflows, integrations, and technical configurations.
Establish and maintain application development standards to promote consistency, usability, and maintainability.
Support the development and implementation of new digital manufacturing solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist end users with Tulip-related issues and provide training or guidance as needed.
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve the accuracy and availability of manufacturing data.
Ensure applications support established manufacturing processes, standard work, and company requirements.
Work with IT and other technical resources to ensure appropriate security, data integrity, system connectivity, and application reliability.
Required Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated experience developing applications using the Tulip Manufacturing Platform.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
Experience developing digital work instructions, workflows, data collection applications, and production dashboards.
Experience with Tulip Tables, Automations, Connectors, and application development tools.
Knowledge of SQL and database management.
Knowledge of JSON, RESTful APIs, and system integrations.
Experience integrating manufacturing applications with ERP or other business systems; experience with Epicor/Kinetic is preferred.
Experience troubleshooting application, integration, and data-related issues.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to translate operational requirements into practical technical solutions.
Ability to work effectively with production employees, engineers, supervisors, managers, and technical personnel.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple application development projects and priorities.
Experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint Online is preferred.
Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization is preferred.
Knowledge of C# or other programming languages is preferred.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in application development, software development, manufacturing systems, or a related field.
Experience with the Tulip platform in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
Working conditions
This position primarily operates in an office environment but may also require work in warehouse settings.PPE is required per company procedures and includes safety shoes, safety glasses and safety vest.
Physical Requirements
Work is primarily performed in an office setting, requiring prolonged sitting, computer use, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
