Senior AI Platform Engineer Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior AI Platform Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of a secure enterprise AI platform within a regulated banking environment. This hands-on position combines AI platform engineering, software development, production support, security, and technical governance to ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and compliant AI services. Key Responsibilities Manage and enhance AI platform components, including Python/FastAPI services, AI agents, connectors, policy controls, databases, background services, and React-based administration tools.Support enterprise search and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities across SharePoint, intranet systems, and approved enterprise data sources.Maintain AI evaluation frameworks covering quality, safety, groundedness, performance, latency, token consumption, and cost optimization.Implement security controls to mitigate risks such as prompt injection, data leakage, unsafe tool execution, and exposure of confidential information.Troubleshoot production incidents and drive improvements in reliability, scalability, observability, performance, and operational efficiency.Maintain secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, RBAC, tenant isolation, and resource-level access controls.Oversee PostgreSQL database design, data integrity, performance optimization, and controlled migration processes.Support containerized deployments, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and release management activities.Develop automated testing frameworks, technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operating procedures, and runbooks.Participate in code reviews, architecture assessments, security evaluations, and release readiness reviews.Provide technical mentoring, coaching, and knowledge transfer to internal engineering teams.Required Skills & Experience Minimum five years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or a related technical role.Strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, asynchronous programming, Pydantic, and modern application architecture.Extensive experience with PostgreSQL, SQL, database design, transactions, concurrency management, and data integrity principles.Hands-on knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, embeddings, RAG architectures, enterprise search, prompt engineering, and tool integrations.Experience designing and implementing automated evaluation frameworks for AI applications.Strong understanding of AI security threats, including prompt injection, retrieval-based attacks, data leakage, and unsafe agent execution.Deep knowledge of API security, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, secrets management, role-based access control, and secure development practices.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure or comparable cloud platforms.Familiarity with observability tooling, including OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Prometheus, logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.Strong automated testing experience across APIs, databases, integrations, security controls, and user interfaces.Working knowledge of TypeScript and React.Professional-level English communication skills.Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Microsoft Graph, and SharePoint integrations.Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and AI/agent lifecycle management.Previous experience within banking, financial services, public sector, or other highly regulated environments.Familiarity with GDPR, EU AI Act, DORA, and related regulatory requirements.Experience in performance testing, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity.Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar integration standards.Experience with Temporal workflow orchestration.Exposure to multilingual enterprise applications.French language proficiency is advantageous.Professional Profile The ideal candidate is a self-driven technical professional capable of working independently while appropriately escalating security, compliance, architectural, and operational concerns.
