Job Description
The IT Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of on-premises IT infrastructure.
The role ensures the availability, performance, security, and reliability of servers, storage, networks, and data center services that support business operations.
Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain on-premises infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization, and data center systems.
Install, configure, and administer physical and virtual servers (Windows and Linux).
Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, and availability.
Implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions.
Apply security hardening, patching, and system updates.
Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
Manage network components related to infrastructure (switches, firewalls, connectivity).
Support hardware lifecycle management and upgrades.
Maintain infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for support and maintenance.
Ensure compliance with IT standards, security policies, and best practices.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong experience with on-premises server and data center environments.
Proficiency in Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Knowledge of storage systems, backup, and disaster recovery.
Understanding of networking fundamentals and infrastructure security.

Qualifications
