About the Role
Juvo Day to Day is looking for a Senior Software Engineer Lead to own the technical direction of our platform and lead a distributed team of offshore developers.
You will be the primary technical decision-maker for new feature development, translating product requirements into a scalable architecture, and building the engineering practices that let a lean, globally distributed team ship reliably.
This is a hands-on leadership role: you will write and review code, set technical standards, and manage day-to-day execution of an offshore development team, while partnering closely with the founder and product stakeholders on roadmap and priorities.
This role is based out of our Covington, LA office.
What You'll Do
Own the end-to-end architecture and technical roadmap for new product development.Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of offshore software developers, setting clear expectations, sprint goals, and quality standards.Run day-to-day engineering operations across time zones: sprint planning, code review, standups, and delivery tracking.Design and build core platform capabilities, including integrations with third-party financial data sources (e.g., accounting systems, open banking / bank data providers, and payment processors).Establish engineering best practices: coding standards, CI/CD, testing, code review, and documentation.Make build-vs-buy and technology stack decisions, balancing speed, cost, and long-term maintainability for an early-stage company.Own system reliability, security, and data-handling practices appropriate for a fintech product handling sensitive financial and banking data.Partner with the founder/product lead to translate business requirements into technical specifications and sprint plans.Communicate technical progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.What We're Looking For
7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead or engineering management role.Proven experience managing or working closely with offshore/distributed development teams, including handling time-zone coordination, async communication, and quality control.Strong full-stack engineering background, comfortable working across backend services, APIs, and integrations.Experience designing systems that integrate with external financial or banking APIs (payments, accounting platforms, open banking, or similar) is strongly preferred.Track record of taking a product from early-stage / 0-to-1 through to a stable, scalable system.Solid understanding of security and compliance considerations relevant to handling financial data.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work directly with founders and non-technical stakeholders.Comfortable operating with startup-level ambiguity and shifting priorities.Able to work on-site at our Covington, LA office.Nice to Have
Experience at an early-stage fintech or payments startup.Familiarity with merchant acquiring, card processing, or ACH/FBO account structures.Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting-system integrations.What We Offer
