Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented Software Developer to work closely with Portfolio Engineering and Technology teams to design, develop, and deliver modern analytical applications that support the investment process.
The primary focus of this role will be modernizing a core portfolio analytics platform, transforming it from a legacy desktop architecture into a scalable, cloud-native HTML5 application.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing intuitive user experiences, building scalable application services, and integrating internal and external analytical libraries, market data sources, and cloud-based infrastructure.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that enhance portfolio analysis and investment decision-making.
The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, software development, and user experience, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality applications that generate measurable business value.
An interest in financial markets, portfolio analytics, and quantitative research is highly desirable.
Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters in Comp Science or related fieldsStrong hand on experience with SQL Server and SSIS.
Including design, maintenance of live mission critical workloadsSQL Performance tuning, stored procedure optimization, relational modeling5+ years experience in data engineering supporting business critical workloads and dealing with front line business issues and enquiriesSQL , Python.
Familiarity with one system language (e.g.
C#, Java ) will be nice to have but not mandatoryExcellent communication skills, with ability to ask questions to clarify requirements and explain technical concepts to nontechnical audienceExperience in Asset management , Financial Services or Investment Management will be a big plus
Technical Requirements:
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience4+ years of software development experience with Python; experience with additional object-oriented languages (e.g., C#, Java) is a plusExperience building modern web applications using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and a modern framework (Angular, React, or similar)Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and distributed application architecturesFamiliarity with cloud-based application development (AWS or similar)Experience working in Agile development environments and source control systems
