About The Role As a Senior Java Engineer, become a part of the unified team to build technical capabilities required for mandatory EU compliance frameworks. Responsibilities Drive backend architectural decisions for the core platform backboneLead complex third-party vendor API orchestration and integrationDesign robust sync/async event-driven API structures ensuring strict regulatory adherenceBe passionate about Event-Driven and Microservices ArchitectureCode, maintain and deploy quality code within an agile environmentBe a collaborative member of a modern software team by owning, supporting and contributing to processes, standards, and designs alongside engineering teams in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Canada and beyondBe product-oriented. Develop software that other people want to use, define product features, participate in workshops with other product development teams and communicate the technical work of your team to other product development teamsOwn workstreams and track the progress you are making towards the wider goals of your team, and transparently communicate that progress to your team and Technology ManagerEnsure you and others continuously improve by proposing and implementing new processes, designs and engineering practices that make your team more effectiveTake responsibility for supporting your changes all the way through to proving that they work well – and continue to work well – in production Requirements Solid coding fundamentals (our codebase is Java and Kotlin) Advanced Database Modeling & MigrationExperience in Event-driven architectureDelivering high-quality software projects, using established best practices, and being able to implement mechanisms to ensure the quality is kept during its lifecycleExperience in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban)Able to work independently and collaborate to solve complex problems Critical thinking and good communication skills Personal Skills Perform a broad range of complex technical or professional activities, in a variety of contextsInvestigate, define and resolve complex issuesAble to work in distributed cross-functional teams effectivelyInfluence customers and team members on the project levelPlan, schedule and monitor your own work competentlyHave learning agility (readiness for challenge and being open to change)Confident Intermediate English (or higher) is a must What’s in it for you?
