Software Engineer

Software Engineer Fully onsite - Cincinnati, Ohio What You’ll Do: Relate Search has partnered with a rapidly growing packaging prototype company in its search for a Software Engineer to become the primary developer responsible for its internally developed business applications. This role will take ownership of a modern application platform built around the company’s ERP environment, improving existing tools while creating new solutions that streamline workflows across the business. The engineer will work directly with operational users to understand business needs, translate them into software solutions, and influence the future technology roadmap. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, full-stack development, and building technology that has a direct impact on day-to-day operations and company growth. Responsibilities: Own, maintain, and continuously improve internally developed business applications, including existing quoting, work order management, and shipping functionality.Design and build new web-based business tools that improve usability, workflow efficiency, automation, and project intake processes.Partner directly with operational users to understand business needs and translate those requirements into practical software solutions.Develop and maintain integrations with the company’s ERP environment while supporting production applications and evolving the broader internal platform.Shape future application capabilities, including additional internal web applications and more efficient methods for receiving and processing customer artwork files. Qualifications: Hands-on experience building and owning web applications, with the ability to work across the full development lifecycle.Current, practical experience with React and full-stack software development.Experience working with PostgreSQL and AWS in an application development environment.Hands-on experience using Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or another AI-assisted coding tool, whether professionally or through personal development projects.Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a small, fast-growing environment and collaborate directly with business stakeholders.
