Description

Key Responsibilities: Design and develop scalable backend software using Java and Spring Boot.Contribute to the architecture and continued evolution of a live software product.Make key technical and design decisions while remaining actively involved in coding.Provide hands-on technical mentorship to junior and intermediate developers.Conduct meaningful code reviews and promote maintainable, high-quality software.Establish and improve engineering practices around CI/CD, automated testing and software quality.Develop and support containerized applications running in Kubernetes environments.Collaborate with product, engineering and other technical stakeholders.Help improve development workflows, including the adoption of modern AI-assisted software engineering practices. Qualifications Strong professional software development experience with Java and Spring Boot.Proven background developing and evolving commercial or enterprise software products in an R&D/product development environment.Strong backend development and software architecture/design experience.Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications.Demonstrated technical leadership while remaining actively involved in software development.Experience mentoring and developing junior and intermediate engineers.Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews and modern software engineering practices.Experience designing scalable, maintainable and reliable software systems. Strong Asset – AI-Assisted Development Hands-on experience with AI coding agents and agentic software development workflows is highly valued. This may include: Building or configuring coding-agent workflows.Creating custom agent instructions, skills or development workflows.Using AI agents to perform multi-step software engineering activities.Applying agentic development approaches to deliver production software or improve engineering productivity.
