About the position: We are expanding our internal IT department and looking for an Linux Engineer. What You’ll Do: Administer Linux servers running in Proxmox VE clusters across three datacenter locations.Troubleshoot incidents, such as services failing to start, disks reaching capacity, or network connectivity issues.Configure and maintain Nginx and HAProxy, including SSL/TLS certificate management.Automate routine operational tasks using Bash and Python instead of performing them manually.Participate in system upgrades and maintenance windows, and create and maintain runbooks.Manage backup processes, including configuration, recovery testing, and documentation. MUST HAVE: Linux administration skills at the LPIC-1 / CompTIA Linux+ level, with confidence in core concepts and commands without relying on documentation for basic tasks.Strong CLI and Bash skills, including pipes, redirection, grep, sed, and awk.Experience managing users, groups, permissions, sudo, and SSH.Knowledge of systemd, services, processes, and log analysis (journalctl).Understanding of file systems, disks, partitions, LVM, and mount points.Strong troubleshooting skills with a structured approach to identifying root causes rather than relying on trial-and-error restarts. NICE TO HAVE: Experience with Proxmox VE, including HA, storage, ZFS, iSCSI, Ceph, networking, and understanding of RAID levels.Knowledge of package and repository management (APT, DNF, YUM), including building and maintaining custom repositories.Network administration skills: IP addressing, routing, DNS, ports, and firewall management (iptables/nftables).Experience with Bash/Python automation and familiarity with Ansible.Understanding of Linux security hardening practices, backups, and recovery testing.Networking knowledge at the CCST Networking level (or equivalent), as well as basic administration of Microsoft AD DS and Hyper-V.
