Description
We’re hiring a DevOps Engineer to join our Core DevOps team, building and operating the shared platforms and tooling that support engineering across Benchmark.
You will focus on creating scalable, secure and automated infrastructure, enabling delivery teams to build, test and release software quickly and consistently.
This is a hands-on role with real impact across our cloud platform, CI/CD pipelines and developer experience.
What you'll do
Build and maintain shared cloud platforms and services (primarily Azure)Develop reusable infrastructure and automation using Terraform and scriptingCreate CI/CD frameworks using tools such as GitHub Actions and Octopus DeployEnable self-service capabilities so teams can deploy and manage workloads independentlySupport Kubernetes clusters, container platforms, networking and identity integrationsImplement guardrails and policies to support security, compliance and scalabilityMaintain monitoring, logging, alerting and performance standards across the platformIdentify and resolve bottlenecks in engineering workflows and deployment pipelinesWork closely with engineering teams to improve tooling, reliability and speed of deliverySupport incident triage, including security-related tickets
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally AzureExperience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred)Exposure to scripting (e.g.
Bash or similar)Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with tools such as GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy or similarUnderstanding of modern application stacks (e.g.

The base
You'll be based at the Benchmark Head Office, within our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex but will need to be present across our other offices, including the main Schroders headquarters in London.
