Developer Platform Engineer - Secure CI/CD 📍 Location: Utrecht, Netherlands - Hybrid 🕒 Hours: 36 hours per week 📅 Start: October 2026 📄 Contract: 12 months, with potential extension ⚠️ Employment/Payroll only - ZZP/Freelance is not possible The Role We are looking for an experienced Developer Platform Engineer to join a large-scale technology organisation in Utrecht and help develop secure, reliable and scalable CI/CD platform solutions. You will join a central Platform Engineering environment supporting dozens of development teams. The focus is on making security, compliance and quality an integral part of the software delivery lifecycle, while ensuring developers can deliver software efficiently and independently. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will design and build solutions while also taking ownership of the tooling and platforms behind them. What You'll Be Doing Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps. Develop reusable pipeline components and standardised development workflows. Automate build, testing and deployment processes. Translate security, compliance and quality requirements into automated controls. Implement automated security and code-quality checks within CI/CD pipelines. Develop automation and tooling using C#, PowerShell, Python and/or Bash. Manage and improve developer tooling such as Azure DevOps, SonarQube and Nexus. Take ownership of solutions throughout their full lifecycle, from initial design through to production and ongoing management. Troubleshoot complex platform, pipeline and tooling issues. Identify structural improvements rather than relying on short-term fixes. Support development teams with questions around CI/CD, security, compliance and developer tooling. Work closely with Engineers, Product Owners and other technical stakeholders. Share knowledge and help development teams become increasingly self-sufficient. What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience within DevOps, DevSecOps or Platform Engineering. Strong hands-on experience designing, building and managing Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. Strong understanding of modern CI/CD and software delivery practices. Programming or scripting experience with at least one of: C# PowerShell Python Bash Experience managing or supporting developer tooling and engineering platforms. Comfortable taking ownership of both engineering and the ongoing lifecycle/management of tooling. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborative approach with a strong focus on knowledge sharing. Ability to design solutions that are secure, maintainable and easy for development teams to use. Fluent Dutch and English - both written and spoken. HBO/WO level of working and thinking.
