Nolwenture remains independent to offer a wide range of software development services. We are now looking for: Senior Software Engineers and ArchitectsThe Senior Software Engineers at Nolwenture are responsible for supporting both client and internal projects, playing to the individual's strengths within the project team – in the role of lead developer, Product Owner or Project Manager. As a senior developer, you will work with modern technologies that are kept up-to-date by the entire team's contributions in order to keep our best practices current and ahead of the game. You will also support mid-level, junior and trainee level team members with their project tasks and broader learning and development. You will work directly with our clients throughout the project lifecycle; gathering requirements, managing expectations, and helping to plan and coordinate delivery alongside the wider team. RequirementsWe expect you to possess a strong understanding about software developmenthave a desire to work on both web and mobile applicationscomply with our documentation processes and best practicesbe fluent in English as it is our operating languagehave good communication skills; at Nolwenture we work very closely with our clientsbe comfortable working directly with clients and confident taking on light project management responsibilities (e.g. previous experience as a Scrum Product Owner or had Scrum Master duties or having run sessions on story mapping or requirement gathering)be willing to adapt to our ways, learn new stuff and challenge yourself(and this is important!) readily ask others for help and return help where neededbe familiar with, or keen to work with, Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools as part of our everyday workflowWe work with a variety of programming languages, but a JavaScript background will suit us well as we use a lot of NodeJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React and React Native. You will benefit from knowing additional languages (e.g. Swift, Kotlin and Python) and being familiar with Scrum project methodology and tools within the Atlassian suite (Jira, Tempo, Confluence). A background in areas such as Unity, WebRTC stream processing, DevOps, UI, robotics or GIS, or other data visualisation and physics / simulations experience, DB (sql/postgres etc.), administration (DBA) is of interest to us too. Furthermore, an interest or experience in AI/ML will be highly appreciated. Work locationJoensuu headquarters. Other possible locations include Kuopio and Helsinki, and working remotely is also a long-term option.
