About The Role In this role, you will contribute to building and evolving innovative software solutions for a leading US-based healthcare insurance company. You will work as part of a mature, distributed engineering team, primarily using Python and Flask, while contributing across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design to development, testing, CI/CD, and production deployment. You will collaborate with experienced Software Engineers, Product Managers, BAs, designers, and client stakeholders, with opportunities to take technical leadership and drive improvements across the project. Responsibilities Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution and component design, development, unit testing, CI/CD, and production deploymentDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions using Python 3.x and FlaskAnalyze backlog items, estimate work, and decompose features into actionable technical tasksTranslate user requirements and business needs into maintainable and effective software solutionsWork with relational databases, primarily PostgreSQL, and contribute to database-related design and developmentDevelop and maintain microservices and integrations using modern software engineering practicesContribute to CI/CD processes and support reliable production deploymentsCollaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams, including Software Engineers, Product Managers, BAs, designers, and client stakeholdersTake ownership of technical initiatives, proactively suggest improvements, and contribute to project processes and engineering practicesApply strong testing and debugging practices, including test-driven development and unit testing Requirements 4–6 years of commercial experience as a Python Software EngineerExpert knowledge of Python 3.x and practical experience with Python web frameworks, particularly FlaskStrong understanding of relational databases and practical experience with PostgreSQLExperience with AWS and cloud-based development environmentsExperience with testing and debugging, including unit testing and test-driven development practicesUnderstanding of software design principles and the ability to translate user requirements into maintainable technical solutionsExperience working with microservices and distributed software systemsIntermediate Strong or higher English level with the ability to communicate effectively in international teamsStrong collaboration skills, ownership mindset, and readiness to take technical leadership responsibilitiesExperience with Kafka and RPC frameworks such as gRPC is a plusKnowledge of React.js and frontend development is a plusExperience working across web and mobile clients is a plus SoftServe is an equal opportunity employer.
