We're a Technology team of over 1,100 engineers developing applications that support pricing, quoting, execution, and trade lifecycle processing for the Derivatives Principal Flow Trading business.
The Equity Derivatives Quoting team develops and supports latency-sensitive electronic trading applications that enable market making and automated quoting across global markets.
Working within UBS's agile operating model, you'll collaborate with global teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and resilient front-office trading solutions while driving innovation across the trading technology stack.

Responsibilities:
The role focuses on the design, development, and support of front-office electronic trading applications used by the Derivatives Principal Flow Trading business.
The successful candidate will:
• Design, develop, and support latency-sensitive trading applications and trading algorithms
• Drive projects and end-to-end deliveries, taking ownership from design through production deployment
• Work closely with traders, quants, and business stakeholders to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into innovative technical solutions
• Build robust, scalable, and highly available Java server-side systems
• Apply software engineering best practices to ensure solution quality, security, reliability, performance, and compliance
• Enhance observability, monitoring, and production support capabilities, proactively identifying and resolving operational risks
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term remediation measures
• Collaborate within a global Agile team delivering business value in iterative development cycles
• Mentor junior developers and actively contribute to engineering excellence and knowledge sharing initiatives
• Drive adoption of modern development practices, including AI-assisted software engineering and automation
Mandatory Skills Description:
• 8+ years of software development experience, preferably in electronic trading or front-office environments
• Strong Java development expertise with experience building high-performance, low-latency applications
• Experience developing and supporting business-critical trading systems
• Knowledge of distributed systems, messaging, and event-driven architectures
• Strong Linux and scripting skills
• Experience with software engineering best practices, including testing, observability, and production support
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, preferably GitHub Copilot
Nice-to-Have Skills Description:
• Knowledge of exchange connectivity, market data systems, and low-latency architecture
