Highlights
Work with satellite imagery and AI to protect critical infrastructure, grow your engineering skills in a scaling startup.
Description
At Orbital Eye, we help pipeline and grid operators protect critical infrastructure using satellite imagery, AI, and geospatial technology.
Our COSMIC-EYE platform continuously monitors thousands of kilometers of critical infrastructure worldwide, helping operators identify potential threats before they become incidents.
As critical infrastructure becomes increasingly important to society, we believe continuous visibility is becoming essential for safer, more reliable, and more sustainable operations.
Since 2012, we have been pioneering satellite-powered infrastructure monitoring, supporting operators across Europe and beyond in safeguarding the networks that keep our societies running.
We are looking for a Software Engineer to help us turn satellite data into the insights that keep critical infrastructure safe — while growing into an excellent engineer along the way.
Why This Role Matters
At Orbital Eye, our teams work with satellite imagery, geospatial data, customer workflows, AI-generated detections, and operational processes that need to be clear, reliable, and scalable.
This role sits at the heart of that process: building the software that processes signals and imagery at scale, so that a potential threat to a pipeline or grid gets caught before it becomes an incident.
We're looking for someone who wants to genuinely master the craft of software engineering, working closely with experienced engineers on problems that combine signal processing, Earth observation, and real-world infrastructure.
Your Role
As Software Engineer, you will:
Design, build, and test software that processes satellite and sensor data at scale.
Work closely with senior engineers and data scientists to turn signal processing and Earth observation techniques into production-grade code.
Contribute to our data pipelines, from raw satellite feeds to the insights operators rely on.
Continuously sharpen your craft through code review, pairing, and mentorship from senior engineers.
What We're Looking For
You have a drive to become an excellent software engineer — you see software development as a craft worth mastering and you already have some proven experience through relevant internships, and maybe even a first job already.
A solid foundation in physics, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, or a similar quantitative field.
A strong interest in signal processing and Earth observation.
Python experience is a strong advantage.
Experience with satellite data, remote sensing, or image processing as well as scientific computing are advantageous as well.
Working in a hybrid fashion, expecting to be in the office in Delft 3 days per week.
We are unable to provide work permit sponsorship for this role.
Candidates must have an existing right to work in the Netherlands.
No agencies or recruiters, please.
We hire directly.
