Senior C++ Engineer

Senior C++ Engineer (Core Electronic Trading) We’re looking for a Senior C++ Engineer to join a team developing the core trading platform for a leading global electronic trading company. This is a backend C++ role at the heart of the trading system, where actual trades are processed. The platform handles incoming market and trading messages, transaction processing, and trading workflows such as RFQ, click-to-trade, and list trading. You’ll be joining a mature, highly complex system that has evolved over many years. The focus is not on building another greenfield service from scratch, but on understanding complex production systems, improving performance, debugging difficult issues, and continuously evolving business-critical trading infrastructure. Location: Poland, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus, Georgia, Argentina (remote/hybrid). What you’ll be working on Developing and enhancing core electronic trading systems in C++Processing trading messages and transaction flowsImproving latency, throughput, and overall system performanceProfiling applications and identifying performance bottlenecksDebugging complex production issues and performing root-cause analysisWorking with multithreaded and concurrent systemsWorking with networking and high-throughput data flowsNavigating and improving a large, mature C++ codebaseImplementing new trading functionality and improving existing componentsUsing modern AI development tools to analyze code, accelerate debugging, and navigate complex systems What we’re looking for 8+ years of professional C++ development experienceStrong modern C++ knowledge (C++14/17/20)Strong knowledge of STL, data structures, OOP, multithreading and concurrencyExperience with electronic trading, trading systems, HFT or other financial markets technologyExperience with performance-sensitive or low-latency systemsStrong debugging and profiling skillsSolid networking knowledge, including TCP/IPExperience working with large and complex production codebasesStrong understanding of algorithms and computational complexityBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical fieldStrong English communication skills Particularly relevant experience We’d especially like to hear from engineers who have worked with: Electronic trading platformsHFT systemsMarket dataExchange connectivityOrder management and execution systemsFIX or other trading protocolsRFQ / request-for-quote systemsPricing or trading enginesFixed Income or DerivativesLow-latency financial infrastructure Nice to have SQL and relational databasesExperience with Fixed Income marketsQuantitative or pricing systemsPythonExperience using Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot or similar tools as part of an engineering workflow This role may not be the best fit if your recent experience is primarily focused on Game developmentEmbedded developmentGeneral enterprise backend without performance-sensitive systemsFrontend or application developmentC++ development without exposure to financial/trading systems Working hours The engineering team works closely with colleagues in New York, so you should be comfortable with at least 4–5 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time.
