About The Role
Koniag Professional Services is seeking a Mid-Level Microsoft DevOps Engineer to join our team and support our government customer in Washington, DC.
This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cloud platform engineering, focusing on Azure, AKS, Bicep, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and AI-enabled solutions.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, configuring, testing, and supporting platform capabilities that align with mission requirements.
They will collaborate closely with stakeholders, architects, engineers, cybersecurity teams, and product owners to translate operational needs into scalable, secure, and reliable digital services.
The role involves supporting platform architecture, automation, infrastructure as code, and deployment pipelines, with a strong emphasis on security, compliance, and operational excellence.
This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and offers a chance to contribute to impactful government projects within a dynamic team environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.4+ years of hands-on experience in platform development or integration, preferably within complex enterprise or government environments.Proven experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, including configuration, development, and operations.Experience working with Agile methodologies and translating stakeholder requirements into technical solutions.Relevant certifications such as Azure Administrator, Azure Developer, Azure Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer Expert, Security Engineer, or Kubernetes are preferred.Experience supporting federal government IT environments, including Public Trust programs, cybersecurity, and regulated enterprise delivery.Strong understanding of API management, identity and access controls, data security, and operational documentation.Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, configure, and sustain Microsoft Azure capabilities, including AKS, Bicep, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Entra ID, Key Vault, Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and Defender for Cloud.Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, container platform operations, and automated deployment processes.Translate complex business, security, and operational requirements into practical technical solutions that ensure platform security, reliability, and accessibility.Support platform architecture development, backlog refinement, release planning, and production deployment activities.Create reusable automation patterns, configuration standards, documentation, and operational procedures to streamline delivery and reduce risks.Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues related to configuration, code, APIs, security, performance, and user experience.Collaborate with cybersecurity, privacy, data management, infrastructure, QA, and change management teams to ensure compliance with federal standards and security policies.Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design decisions, operational runbooks, test evidence, and risk assessments.
