Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary The purpose of the role is to design, develop, and deliver high-quality and timely game products. It also includes hands-on development and design activities. The role is responsible for architecting and implementing critical software components and games. It requires working closely with other engineers to provide guidance and support on software architecture. This position must demonstrate a high degree of initiative and is accountable for the thorough implementation of all tasks assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Utilizes technical knowledge to write and complete software tasks and projectsResearches new technologies and incorporates them into new systems and productsTakes initiative in leading projects, delegating responsibilities, and collaborating with othersTests, integrates, writes, troubleshoots, and debugs software applicationsResponsible for the architecture and implementation of critical software components and games; uses company standards and applies design principles and patterns to develop robust softwareWorks closely with other engineers to provide guidance and assistance in the areas of software architecture, coding standards, and system-related issuesActs as team mentor in a multi-person development teamDevelop strong knowledge of Light & Wonder development processes Qualification Requirements: Training and/or Experience: Highly organized and strong ability to prioritize workProficient in programming languages C# / TypeScriptWorking knowledge of Unity / Godot game engineAbility to work with technical correspondence4+ years of gaming development experienceHigh level of interest in the gaming industry5+ years of professional experience in a software development team5+ years of experience with build automation, continuous integration, unit testing, change management, and configuration management5+ years of experience with software methodologies Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent C# or TypeScript programming skillsMinimum 4+ years programming experienceAbility to work well with others in a team environmentFull Software Development Lifecycle experience, including writing appropriate documentation for each stageStrong working knowledge of operating systemsConfiguration management experience (ie have previously used tools such as Perforce/GitHub).Strong working knowledge of development/modeling toolsStrong multi-tasking skillsEnjoy working in a creative environmentExcellent communication skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, preferably BSEE, BSCE, BSEET, or BSCS, or equivalent experience Working Conditions: The work conditions are representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations Workplace Health & Safety: Actively co-operate and comply with the company’s WHS Policy and Program to ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others in the workplaceEnsure compliance with safe work practicesEnsure not to put self and others at riskUse and maintain equipment properly and ensure that the work area is free of hazardsReport all incidents, injuries and near missesReport any hazard or accident to the supervisor or manager as soon as it becomes apparentAdvise your manager if you do not believe you have the skills, training or equipment to safely perform your duties (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)
