Much of the financial industry still relies on technology built decades ago, with newer systems continually layered on top. The result is complexity, inefficiency and technology that was never designed for the speed or scale of modern markets. This business is approaching that problem differently, building modern, cloud native financial infrastructure designed to process significant volumes of trading, risk and market data in real time. Their technology operates across sophisticated areas of the financial markets, so engineering performance, reliability and technical quality genuinely matter. This is not a conventional banking technology environment. Engineers are solving difficult problems at significant scale with modern technology. THE ROLE, REACT ENGINEER This is not a typical front end product role. They are looking for an exceptional React engineer who understands what is happening underneath the framework, rather than somebody whose experience centres around building screens, component libraries or design systems. You will work on complex financial applications where rendering behaviour, application performance, state architecture, testing and maintainability all matter. The strongest candidates will be engineers who naturally investigate why something behaves the way it does and can explain their reasoning quickly and precisely. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Build complex React applications used within global financial markets · Work deeply with React rendering behaviour, performance and state architecture · Solve difficult front end engineering and performance problems · Write high quality JavaScript and TypeScript · Build heavily tested and maintainable production software · Make and explain architectural decisions · Work directly with experienced engineers and technical stakeholders ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE · Exceptional commercial React experience · Deep understanding of React internals and rendering behaviour · Strong JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals · Experience diagnosing and improving application performance · Strong understanding of state architecture · Excellent software testing discipline · Ability to explain technical decisions quickly and concisely · Strong spoken English · Polish right to work without sponsorship · Based in Warsaw or Wroclaw DESIRABLE, NOT ESSENTIAL · Financial services or trading technology experience · Capital markets knowledge · Low latency or performance sensitive systems · Regulated technology environments · Previous consultancy or client facing experience EMPLOYMENT This is a permanent position under a Polish UoP contract.
