Python Backend Engineer

A FinTech start up is looking for a Backend Engineer specialising in Python and Django to design and build real time platforms used within highly specialised financial markets. You will take ownership of features from concept to production, solving complex distributed systems problems. The company is funded by a major business and working with some of the most innovative engineers on their team. It is an opportunity to join at a stage where the business needs hyper growth and is selling their software to top brokerages in the market at a rapid pace. It is completely AI driven and their model allows brokers to receive trade signals at within the commodity markets allowing them to have a centralised platform to work with in comparison to manual processes. 💰 Salary: Up to £100,000 + Bonus + Benefits 🗺️ Hybrid working – 3 days per week in London (with 4/5 during probation) 📆 Permanent opportunity 💻 Technology: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Testing What You Will Do: Design scalable APIs and high-performance microservices leveraging the Python and Django ecosystem.Optimise data layers and query performance within PostgreSQL relational databases.Deploy, scale, and maintain distributed backend systems containerised via Docker and orchestrated within Kubernetes environments.Implement modern engineering practices, ensuring high test coverage, robust version control, and seamless continuous integration (CI/CD pipelines) - requires good engineering skills What We Are Looking For: Backend Engineering Experience: Strong track record of writing production grade, asynchronous Python code.System Design Expertise: Solid understanding of software architecture, data modeling, and RESTful API design patterns.Cloud & Infrastructure: Familiarity with containerised workflows using Kubernetes and cloud environments If interested, please feel free to apply even if you do not tick every single box in the tech stack.
