A senior full-stack engineer is sought to work on a complex B2B data and catalogue platform supporting a large supply-chain ecosystem. The role combines .NET, React, and Azure development with architectural ownership and a pathway toward technical leadership. It suits an experienced engineer who can lead a stream of work, make sound technical decisions, and thrive on difficult data-quality challenges.
Highlights
Opportunity to grow into a technical leadership role based on capability rather than title, with meaningful ownership in a small team, complex data challenges, and the backing of an established organization.
Description
About PARts DB
PARts DB builds the B2B fitment data and catalogue platform that sits underneath the automotive parts supply chain.
When a workshop, retailer or distributor can tell you in seconds whether a part fits a given vehicle, that answer came from a platform like ours.
We have 25+ years of proprietary fitment data behind us - one of the deepest data sets of its kind in the region - and the backing of GPC Asia Pacific.
That combination is unusual: the data depth and stability of a large group, with the pace and short decision paths of a team small enough that your work is visible.
Vehicle fitment is a genuinely hard data problem.
High cardinality, messy real-world sources, unforgiving accuracy expectations, and commercial weight behind every answer.
It is not CRUD.
The role - and why we have pitched it where we have
We would rather hire someone with the capability to lead a stream and grow into the title than someone who already has the title on their CV.
If you are a strong Senior Developer who has been shaping technical design, lifting the people around you and doing lead work without the badge, this is the role where you get the badge - and the support to grow into it.
You will join as a Senior Engineer reporting to the Head of Engineering, with a mapped path to Technical Lead: a defined set of readiness indicators, a development plan against them, and a manager who will tell you plainly what is still missing.
Move faster than expected and the title follows.
What you will be doing
Leading design and delivery of the most complex, novel and highest-risk work in your stream - cross-system builds, migrations, and performance and scalability problems.Owning the technical design of what your stream ships and making the architectural calls that go with it: security, performance, scalability, data integrity and operational cost.Staying hands-on.
This is a technical leadership role, not a step away from the keyboard.Setting the quality bar - thorough code review, engineering-led QA, automation, integration testing and CI/CD discipline.Owning root cause analysis and durable resolution for significant production incidents in your stream.Mentoring Developers, Juniors and Graduates through pairing, review coaching and input into their development plansWorking directly with Product Managers, business stakeholders and vendors, translating technical trade-offs into decisions they can act on.Growing into the lead: contributing to estimation, planning and stream direction, deputising for the Technical Lead, and building the people-leadership side deliberately rather than by accident.Setting the standard for AI-assisted development - high throughput on complex work with rigorous verification, and clear judgement about where the tools can and cannot be trusted.
What we are looking for - capability, not years
We are assessing what you can do and how fast you grow, not counting service.
In practice this capability tends to show up somewhere around the five-year mark, but if you have it earlier, we want to hear from you.
You are the person complex work already gets routed to, and it comes back done. You make design calls and can explain clearly why you made them. You lift the people around you - review feedback that teaches, not just corrects. You are comfortable with ambiguity: you interpret the problem, shape the solution and own the outcome. You communicate rather than go quiet, particularly when something is going wrong. You want to lead a team, and you are honest about the parts of that you have not done yet.
Your technical background
Strong backend depth in C# / .NET Core, with solid front-end capability in React (Next.js an advantage).Proven experience building and scaling modern web applications, APIs and services in a cloud-native SaaS environment.Azure preferred.
We are open to AWS or GCP backgrounds where you have moved between platforms before or can show you have done the homework to pick Azure up quickly.Database design across relational and non-relational stores, with a focus on performance and data integrity.Secure development practice you can embed in a team, not just apply yourself.CI/CD and DevOps as part of how you work, not a separate function.Expert and judicious use of AI development tools, with the ability to teach and standardise that usage.Strong Agile Scrum fluency; experience working with offshore teams is an advantage.Degree in Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. This is not a role for a pure specialist, or for someone who wants a defined queue of tickets.
You will be expected to think, decide and own outcomes across the stack.
How we actually work
We asked our own engineers what they would tell a friend about working here.
Four things came back, and they are the reason people stay:
Real variety.
You work across different technologies and different parts of the business, not a single narrow lane - which is the fastest way we know to build the breadth that gets you to the next level.Trust over process.
We are light on micromanagement and heavy on outcomes.
People here are trusted to work out the best way to get there and given room to try new ideas. No blame culture.
When something goes wrong, we work out why and make it better.
That is precisely why people here take on work that stretches them.Approachable people who share what they know.
If you are stepping up a level, that matters more than any career framework.Alongside that:
A defined engineering pathway with plenty of growth opportunity.A prime Sydney CBD office with genuine hybrid flexibility.Modern engineering practice on a platform that is being actively modernised, not maintained. And customers who depend on us getting the answer right.
