Description

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to own the frontend of Greenstone’s web applications, including our internal CRM - used daily by our investor coverage, product and compliance team - and our client-facing investor portal. This is a frontend-led role, with hands-on contribution to our PHP/Laravel backend, integrations and internal tooling when required. You will join a small, high-trust technology team, with direct exposure to leadership and genuine ownership of the systems you build. Our applications use modern React-based frontend architectures, with individual products using technologies including React, TypeScript, Vite, Next.js and Material UI. We are looking for someone who can work confidently across these environments, build scalable component systems and make sound technical decisions for each product. What you will do Own the frontend: Take end-to-end ownership of the architecture, delivery and continuous improvement of our CRM and investor portal, and lead the frontend development of future applications.Deliver high-quality products: Work with stakeholders across investor coverage, product, compliance and leadership to translate complex investment and relationship-management workflows into clear, responsive and usable experiences.Engineer in React and TypeScript: Build scalable, well-typed React applications using reusable components and disciplined state and data-fetching patterns, including Redux, TanStack Query and React Router.Evolve our design system: Develop a consistent Material UI component system, including data-dense tables using MUI X Data Grid Pro, charting with Recharts, rich-text editing with Tiptap, document and PDF viewing, and accessible, responsive behaviour across devices.Improve performance and reliability: Optimise page and bundle performance, strengthen frontend observability through Sentry and support real-time functionality delivered through Pusher. Diagnose incidents, resolve defects and help ensure safe production releases.Maintain engineering quality: Write well-tested, well-documented and maintainable code, and uphold high standards in code review, security and release practices.Work AI-assisted: Use tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor as part of your day-to-day workflow, while applying the judgment required to review, test and take ownership of the output.Contribute across the stack: Work within the PHP/Laravel API, database-backed functionality and integrations—including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, real-time services and third-party data providers—when required to deliver end-to-end outcomes.Build securely on AWS: Apply OWASP-aligned security practices, robust authentication and authorisation, and careful handling of investor and client data in line with DIFC data-protection obligations. Work with our AWS-hosted platform, including RDS, S3, ElastiCache, OpenSearch and GuardDuty, and the CI/CD pipelines that deploy to it. What we are looking for At least eight years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial ownership of production frontend applications.Expert-level React and TypeScript, with a strong command of modern JavaScript, HTML, CSS and build tooling such as Vite.Proven experience designing reusable component systems and scalable frontend architecture. Strong Material UI experience is required; hands-on experience with MUI X Data Grid or Date Pickers would be a significant advantage.Deep experience with application-state and server-state patterns, including Redux and TanStack Query or comparable libraries, client-side routing and validated form handling.Experience building data-rich business applications—such as CRMs, portals or financial platforms—with complex tables, filtering, charts and document handling.A demonstrable commitment to responsive design, accessibility, usability and frontend performance.Practical experience with automated testing tools such as Vitest or Jest, React Testing Library and Playwright or Cypress, alongside code review, Git-based version control and CI/CD.Working knowledge of PHP and Laravel, including RESTful APIs, relational data modelling using MySQL and common integration patterns, with the ability to contribute hands-on when required.Hands-on AWS experience, with working knowledge of services such as RDS, S3, ElastiCache, OpenSearch and GuardDuty, and confidence working with CI/CD pipelines deploying to AWS.A sound understanding of web application security, including the OWASP Top 10, secure authentication and authorisation, single sign-on and the handling of sensitive data.A track record of owning significant product delivery and making sound architectural decisions independently, balancing speed, quality and commercial priorities.The ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders and work effectively with senior business users.A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.The ability to work full-time from Greenstone’s Dubai office. Critical releases, incidents and major delivery periods may occasionally require support outside normal office hours.
