AI Software Engineer - Dubai Discover the Opportunity Discovered MENA is partnering with a fast-growing AI technology startup looking to hire an AI Software Engineer to join its expanding engineering team. This is an opportunity to build and deliver AI-powered products, working across frontend and backend development while integrating LLMs, RAG and agentic capabilities into production-ready applications. You’ll work closely with AI Engineers to transform intelligent models and systems into scalable, user-centric software. The business is entering a significant phase of product delivery and growth, making this an ideal opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, taking ownership and working within a lean, ambitious startup environment. Discover the Responsibilities: Design, develop and maintain scalable fullstack applications, working across backend services, APIs and modern frontend interfaces.Build production-grade backend systems using Python/FastAPI and frontend applications using TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.Collaborate with AI Engineers to integrate LLMs, RAG pipelines, vector databases and agentic workflows into AI-powered products.Develop and integrate AI services, including model APIs, retrieval systems and agent orchestration, to deliver intelligent user experiences.Take ownership of features across the full software development lifecycle, from system design and development through to testing, deployment and production support.Contribute to the deployment of AI applications within cloud environments, working closely with DevOps and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure scalability, reliability and observability.Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and system design, writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code.Explore and utilise AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code and Codex, to improve engineering productivity and delivery. Discover the Requirements: 5+ years of professional Software Engineering experience, with strong hands-on expertise across both frontend and backend development.Strong backend development experience, ideally using Python and FastAPI, alongside frontend experience with TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React or Next.js.Proven experience designing, building and deploying production-grade software applications, ideally within a product-led or startup environment.Practical experience building or integrating AI-powered applications, with an understanding of LLMs, RAG, vector databases, AI agents and agentic workflows.Experience working with cloud technologies and deploying applications into production, ideally AWS, although other major cloud platforms will be considered.Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including API design, distributed systems, scalability, testing and system design.Exposure to CI/CD, containerisation, observability and modern cloud-native development practices would be advantageous.A strong problem-solving mindset, willingness to learn new technologies and the ability to take ownership within a fast-moving, collaborative engineering team
