Software Engineer - Backend (Java / Python / C#) | £80,000–£95,000 + bonus & benefits | West London | Permanent | 5 days onsite We’re hiring a Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer to join the London technology team building mission-critical systems supporting global payments and financial markets. You’ll work on high-performance, large scale, business-critical backend systems, solving complex technical problems. What we’re looking for: Strong backend software engineering experienceExperience with Java, Python or C# Strong problem-solving and software design skillsExperience working with scalable, distributed or high-performance systemsExperience participating in or leading code reviewsAbility to support and mentor other engineers Experience with any of the following would be useful: Java 17+ / Spring BootOracle SQLDocument databasesKubernetesJenkinsGitHub Copilot or other AI coding toolsBuilding AI agents or using AI to improve engineering productivity Salary: £80,000–£95,000 + bonus & benefits Location: West London Working pattern: 5 days per week onsite Visa: Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK.
