Senior CIAM Software Engineer

Location: ACT, QLD, VIC, NSW Sector: Federal Government Contract Tenure: 18 months Work arrangement: Hybrid Baseline Security Clearance We pay weekly We are seeking an experienced CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management) Tech Lead to join a high-performing team delivering large-scale identity solutions in a complex and security-focused environment. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will lead the implementation of CIAM solutions, contribute directly to software development, and mentor engineers while driving technical excellence. You will work on enterprise-scale identity platforms supporting millions of users and collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative identity solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation and delivery of CIAM solutions.Design and develop high-quality software using modern engineering practices.Perform code reviews and maintain a high-quality, maintainable codebase.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.Contribute to solution architecture and technical design decisions.Support estimation, planning, and delivery activities.Mentor and upskill team members, fostering a collaborative engineering culture.Evaluate and leverage emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tools.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate identity solutions across enterprise systems.Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the software development lifecycle. Essential Experience Advanced object-oriented programming skills with extensive experience in JavaScript and TypeScript.Strong experience in unit and integration testing, including frameworks such as Jest.Proven experience delivering complex CIAM solutions.Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC).Experience customising and integrating leadingCIAM platforms such as: Auth0OktaForgeRockPing IdentityExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as: GitHub CopilotClaude CodeCursorSimilar productivity and code-quality toolsDemonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineering team members.
