About the role: As a Lead Software Engineer, you will enjoy working on a diverse and exciting range of projects across various clients and industries. We are a technology agnostic business which opens endless possibilities for you to work across multiple tech stacks and multiple platforms with the opportunity to upskill and cross skill in the following: API Development - Java, Kotlin, Golang, Node.js, Kafka and GraphQLIntegration Technologies - Apigee, KongMulti Cloud Platforms - AWS, GCP, Azure We will always evolve as the technology landscape changes so we both won’t be left behind! We love our tech-agnostic culture. For this role, we want someone with deep expertise specifically in .NET, with the agility to adapt across different stacks. Your day to day: Thrive in our collaborative, flat-structured environment, where your day-to-day work is all about teamwork and shared decision-makingLead and mentor team members to become the next generation of leaders and software professionalsImplement technology solutions that meet and exceed customer requirements and expectationsDevelop high quality code that can function with existing code, patterns and architectural techniquesProvide clarification of technical requirements and the translation of these requirements into technical designMonitor and assess industry developments and incorporate them into solutions where appropriateChampion the adoption and evolution of AI-assisted development tools across teams and projectsDesign and implement team-wide agentic coding workflows (setup-plan-act) that integrate with existing development practicesEstablish team standards for shared context management, prompt libraries and reusable agentic patternsMentor engineers at all levels on effective AI-human collaboration in software developmentEffectively utilise development best practices such as CI/CDActively participate in team agile development practicesEnsure appropriate quality is maintained through practices such as unit testing and shifting quality leftDesign systems that can be deployed and managed effectively in a production environment.Use professional judgement while treating colleagues and clients with respect and compassion, and a demonstrated ability to display our five Mantel principles What you’ll need to be successful: Expertise in modern API technologies & microservices, in order to architect and develop solutions on both greenfield projects and existing applicationsStrong technical and team leadership experience, having led the technical direction on both projects and software engineering teamsThe ability to code in .NET and have a willingness to learn new languagesExperience building and maintaining cloud based applications - AWS / GCP / AzureExperience with agentic coding tools and ability to lead team adoptionExperience architecting development workflows that integrate AI assistance with human expertiseUnderstanding of AI code generation security and quality assurance frameworksProven experience establishing team ways of working with agentic tools, including:Shared context repositories and knowledge managementPrompt engineering standards and librariesYou are passionate about software development best practices such as CI/CDA self-starter mindset and an ability to work hands-on, to find answers and work with ambiguityValues driven and practical in your approachAt Mantel, we want you to be yourself.
