Azure Shared Services Engineer -Platform Engineering and Automation
Azure Shared Services Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting Client in Azure platform.
The environment is comprised of various management structures and custom-built automations that assist other users with many day-to-day tasks.
Azure Shared Services Engineer needs to ensure that management structures and automations are in line with Client standards and running smoothly as expected.
Strong architecture knowledge and hands-on experiences are required to create and enhance solutions across Azure services (PaaS, IaaS, networking).
Job Responsibilities:
• Platform Engineering and Automation
o Develop and maintain Azure platform components using IaC (ARM, Bicep, Terraform, JSON).
o Automate provisioning of Azure resources and core structures (management groups, subscriptions, resource groups).
o Build reusable templates and modules to enforce standards and improve deployment consistency.
• Operations and Support
o Monitor and troubleshoot automation pipelines, governance configurations, and platform deployment issues.
o Ensure reliability and compliance of Azure services and core platform components, such as Log Analytics, Event Hubs, and Serverless Compute.
• Governance and Architecture
o Implement Azure RBAC and organizational guardrails aligned with ExxonMobil’s standards.
o Work with architects to translate design requirements into automated platform capabilities.
• Service Evaluation and Innovation
o Assess new Azure services and features; provide recommendations for adoption.
o Collaborate with Microsoft and internal teams to optimize platform performance and security practices are implemented.
• Collaboration and Documentation
o Work closely with agile teams across the organization.
o Maintain documentation, best practices, and knowledge resources for platform consistency.
Primary skill set :
• Minimum 3+ experience in Coding skills with hands-on experiences (PowerShell Core/Script, Infrastructure as Code – ARM, BICEP, JSON, and Terraform)
• Minimum 2+ years experience in Azure platform administration skills (Azure Management Groups, Subscriptions, Resource Groups, Entra ID, RBAC, and common IaaS/PaaS Resources – Log Analytics workspaces, Event Hubs, etc.)
• Minimum 2+ years experience in CI/CD skills (repository, pipelines, workflow, action, etc.
on GitHub and Azure DevOps platforms)
• Experience with Agile work methodology
• Infrastructure experience, ideally with the following: Windows/Linux server and/or VMs, IP networking, infrastructure integration, infrastructure security
• API management
• Good in English communications Skills
