About The Role
The DevOps Engineer at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh will be instrumental in supporting the Bank's journey toward digital transformation by designing, implementing, and maintaining modern, secure, and scalable technology solutions.
This role combines full-stack application development with DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure management, and automation to streamline deployment processes and enhance system reliability.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop AI-enabled applications, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and automate infrastructure and deployment workflows.
As a subject-matter expert, the DevOps Engineer will contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at modernization, cloud adoption, and operational efficiency, ensuring that the Bank’s technology infrastructure remains robust, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.Minimum of five years of professional IT experience, with at least two years in roles related to Full Stack development, DevOps, CI/CD engineering, or automation.Hands-on experience managing cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including services like EC2, Lambda, Kubernetes, and Terraform.Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Maven, and Jenkins.Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog and AWS CloudWatch.Knowledge of security and compliance practices including vulnerability scanning, SAST, DAST, and secret management.Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular.Backend development experience in Java and Python, with API design and integration skills.Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB.Strong scripting skills in Bash, YAML, Python, and Go.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for testing, building, and deploying software applications, leveraging tools like GitHub Actions and Maven.Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate deployment via Kubernetes or EKS Fargate.Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and performance, utilizing tools like CloudWatch and Datadog.Ensure application security by conducting vulnerability scans, SAST, DAST, and managing secrets with tools like AWS Secrets Manager.Develop full-stack applications, including responsive front-end interfaces with Angular and backend services in Java and Python.Design and consume REST APIs, integrating authentication and authorization layers to ensure secure access.Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues, optimize automation processes, and enhance system reliability.Contribute to strategic planning for modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, and automation improvements aligned with organizational goals.Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
